Southeast Asia faced a complex web of armed conflicts and security threats, ranging from separatist insurgencies and terrorism to political instability and radicalisation.

Southern Thailand faced ongoing security challenges. A defence volunteer was injured by a car bomb, and a province was placed on alert for a potential stolen car bomb.
