Southern Thai defence volunteer injured when bomb in her car explodes
The bombing is the latest in a spate of suspected separatist bombing attacks in the restive Thai Deep South.

PATTANI (Thailand): – A defence volunteer was seriously injured on Monday (17 March) when a time bomb, planted in her car by suspected separatist insurgents, detonated while she was on her way to work in Kapho district, it has been reported.
The victim, identified as Suyanee Seeba, survived the explosion and was rushed to hospital for emergency treatment, the Bangkok Post reported.
According to police, the explosive device had been hidden inside her Suzuki Swift car and had been set to detonate as she approached the district office.
The blast occurred at 10:10 am just as she managed to open the car door and escape before flames engulfed the vehicle.
Due to the severity of her injuries, Suyanee was transferred from Kapho Hospital to Pattani Hospital in Muang district for further treatment.
Investigators believed the bomb had been designed to explode after she had arrived at her workplace and parked the vehicle.

The attack was the latest in a spate of bombings that have been occurring weekly in the past few weeks usually during or close to the weekend.
